The Federal Pioneer RCD5636 is a 60 A, 3-pole non-fusible safety switch built for electricians and contractors who need a dependable, weatherproof means of disconnect for outdoor electrical equipment. Housed in a Type 3R stainless steel enclosure, it stands up to rain, corrosion, and coastal environments where painted steel enclosures fall short — making it the right choice for HVAC disconnects, pool and hot tub equipment, irrigation systems, air compressors, and rooftop loads. The spring-loaded quick make, quick break mechanism delivers fast, positive switching action regardless of handle speed, minimising arcing and protecting both the operator and connected equipment. Non-fusible by design, overcurrent protection is handled upstream at the panel, eliminating fuse management on site. Suitable for service entrance applications when equipped with the appropriate neutral assembly or equipment grounding kit, and lockable for CEC-compliant isolation.
