The Greenlee Nail Eater® Extreme Shorty (Model 62PTS-7/8) is a 7/8" auger bit engineered for electricians working in tight spaces where a full-length bit won’t fit, yet still capable of drilling through three abutting 2×4s in a single pass. Its patented cutting angle delivers smoother starts and reduced cutting loads, while the self-feeding screw point draws the bit through wood — including nails — with 30% longer cutting edge life than standard bits. Made from super tough, heat-treated steel with a 7/16" hex shank, it’s the go-to shorty bit for rough-in wiring in framed walls and floors.
